Take Me Back to Tulsa

Now that we have been back in the midwest for a full two months, it seems the appropriate time to begin a new blog. The long wait is over faithful readers, we are back to blogging. Unlike our previous two blogs which highlighted our east coast travels and big city excursions, this one is more likely to serve as an outlet for my day to day ramblings as I try to fill my time with activities while waiting to secure the perfect job.

Gregg has had better luck in that department thus far and is about to begin his fourth week at an engineering company call Emoteq. His official job title is Project/Design Engineer. He is going to be one of the company's encoder specialists. What is an encoder you ask? Not sure. My suspicion is that they are tiny devices that pick up on all intelligence circulating the CIA and transfer said intelligence into the pocketbooks of Emoteq employees. Just a guess though. It's a small company and he has a few friends (actually his own age) that work there. One of his co-workers lives in our apartment complex and they car pool to work which is very convenient for me so they I have access to a car during the week and am not left to a 40 hour non-work week of complete isolation. I'm definitely on the job hunt, and at this point anything will do to save myself from boredom so hopefully something will work out soon.

We have been hanging out with our friends a lot and have been having a great time. A group of us have made a weekly habit of getting together and trying to create a challenging dish for dinner. So far we have made shrimp crepes, chicken cannelloni and fajitas with churros for dessert. All the dishes have turned out really well except for the churros which were an epic failure. For more details visit here.

So overall, we are glad to return to the city that provided us with college educations, many friends and an affordable cost of living. I definitely want to go back and visit New York City, mainly to do all of the shopping I couldn't afford during our four month stay. But not anytime soon.

Tallest faux-Jenga tower ever!

Gregg loves Tulsa so much he is jumping for joy!
